Clues worth checking
Unexplained damp patches, staining, a persistent musty smell or unusually high water use may point to a plumbing issue. These signs do not identify the cause on their own. An assessment can help distinguish a pipe leak from another source of moisture and establish which repair is needed.
- Dampness or staining around walls, ceilings and fittings
- Visible drips, corroded fittings or a burst water pipe
- A change in water use or an unexplained pressure problem

From the source to the repair
Tell us whether the problem is continuous or appears only when a fixture is used, and which parts of the property are affected. Leak detection and a check of the relevant plumbing help direct the work. Yes. Note whether it affects one fixture or the whole property, and whether both hot and cold water are affected. That is useful information for the initial enquiry.
